This piece was made as a response to the phrase "guard your heart". The artist made a large number of spikes and created a sphere that encased a glittering fabric heart. The sparkling, soft heart on the inside and the harsh, dark metal is supposed to contrast starkly. The piece was made to be installed above the viewer and be difficult to reach. Heart Guardian was adapted to sit on a pedestal and NAU's open house student showcase gallery.
